Terms of Service

1. Eligibility and Accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to use OpenAdventure.
• Adult-only stories require you to confirm that you are 18 or older before starting those runs.
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity under your account.
• You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.

2. User Content and Ownership

You retain ownership of stories, text, and media you submit to OpenAdventure. You grant OpenAdventure a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify (for technical formatting), display, and distribute your content solely to operate, secure, and improve the service.

If you publish or make content discoverable, you understand that other users may view and interact with it according to product features.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive activity.
• Upload content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape at scale, or bypass security/rate limits.
• Upload malware, harmful code, or content intended to damage other users.
• Impersonate others or misrepresent affiliation or identity.

4. AI-Assisted Features

OpenAdventure includes AI-assisted writing and gameplay tools. AI output can be inaccurate, offensive, or incomplete and should be reviewed before publishing or relying on it. You are responsible for how you use AI-generated output in your stories.

5. Intellectual Property

The OpenAdventure platform, including software, branding, interface elements, and underlying service design, is owned by OpenAdventure and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except as explicitly allowed, you may not copy, modify, or redistribute platform materials.

6. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to OpenAdventure if you violate these terms, create legal or security risk, or misuse the service. We may also discontinue or modify features at any time.

7. Disclaimers

OpenAdventure is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, OpenAdventure and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business interruption arising from your use of the service.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service periodically. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of OpenAdventure after changes means you accept the revised terms.
